In our first session we'll focus on GarageBand for iPad, and we’ll look at the newest release which includes something called ‘live loops’ - which is very exciting new way of making music for the students. We’ll give you ten new lessons to work with that you can do with any class, no matter what their experience is.
Sesssion Two: Using GarageBand for Mac in the Classroom
In week two we’ll shift our focus to GarageBand for mac computers ... and we’ll go over all the differences between the iPad and Mac versions, plus give you ten fantastic beginner lessons that you can use in the schools computer lab.
Session Three: Expanded Projects for GarageBand for iPad
In week three we'll give you MORE ... more ideas and projects for making GarageBand for iPad not just a 'play thing' but an important music creation tool. This is not only fun and exciting for students, but really covering your curriculum requirements and teaching important musicianship elements.
Week Four: Lessons 1-10 for GarageBand for Mac... remastered for GarageBand 10.2
In this final session of our initial training program we changed our course and re-mastered lessons 1-10, instead of presenting lessons 11-20.
GarageBand 10.2 introduced a significant difference in layout and design, which caused confusion for many users. Therefore instead of adding ten more lessons we have re-recorded the first ten for this new version of the software. This means that you have both versions of the student videos avaialble, depending on which version of GarageBand you are using.
BONUS Update session: The latest developments in Garageband for Mac 10.2, plus how to use the computer and iPad together for more exciting music creation projects
In this bonus update session we shared ten more projects you can use in the computer lab, and we also showed you how students can integrate their work between the computer and the iPads. This session also gave us the opportunity to use GarageBand's in-built video syncing tools to show you how students can create their own movie soundtrack projects.
