Attention: Anyone teaching classroom music lessons

Learn all the latest developments in GarageBand music software to inspire and motivate students to create their own music in 2017

GarageBand is a software tool that is constantly developing … and as music educators we must make sure that we are up to date with the latest developments in this exciting software platform.

Students love working with this software! They are engaged and motivated while learning with these tools from the very first class, and they can create their own music, no matter how much experience they have.

Suitable for GarageBand for iPad

We will explore the latest developments in the GarageBand for iPad software, including “Live Loops", which is a brand new way of thinking about music creation. Students will also create their own compositions from scratch, using all available features of the software.

Classroom Projects for GarageBand for Mac

We’ll use all elements of GarageBand for Mac to create exciting music, and students will use composition as a vehicle for learning other aspects of musicianship as well, such as instrumentation, form, melody and harmony. By the end students can use GarageBands in-built video syncing tools to create their own movie soundtrack.

Four Online Training Sessions Included

We’ll take you step-by-step, and run through ten lessons each week, so it’ll be able to be consumed in “bite-size-chunks” for you. There will be four one-hour training sessions in total, and you’ll have a chance to ask questions either in the chatroom at the live training, or between sessions via email. An attendance certificate is available on completion of a feedback form.

40 Lesson Plans with Assignments & Videos

Over the four weeks of the program we’ll share 40 lesson plans, which consist of a classroom video plus an assignment sheet for the students. There will be 20 for Garageband for iPad, and 20 for Garageband for Mac. Students can be self-directed and progress through the program at their own pace.
