We’ve recorded a training session, and shared 10 amazing workshop-style pieces for Junk Percussion. Anyone can use them to engage and motivate students in music classes of any type.
What is Junk Percussion?
“Junk Percussion” refers to using buckets, bins, chairs, or any other “found objects” to create music. Usually all that is needed is some drum sticks for each student, which can even be home-made if necessary.
Do you have to have specific skills?
No – this is suited to anyone teaching music, anywhere! We provide step-by-step tutorials on how to teach each piece of music, and even if you can’t read music well you’ll still be able to teach these pieces to your students.
What's a workshop-style piece?
A workshop-style piece is a piece of music that you can perform with your students, that you can easily learn in one or two classes. The music can be taught aurally – and students will remember what they need to do.
