Chopin was known as “the poet of the piano” for his ability to evoke emotions and express beauty in his piano music. Choose some excerpts from the listening list below and either write down some poetic words that represent the emotions evoked by the music, or give them a poetic title. You could also discuss as a class what possible events in Chopin’s life may have led him to write each piece.
