This video is a Suzuki teacher using flashcards to actively involve her students in remembering musical terms they have played in their pieces.
I was just looking through youtube for music theory videos and I stumbled across this teacher who was actively involving her students in remembering musical terms they have played in their pieces. This is quite a small Suzuki style group, but there’s no reason why it couldn’t be adapted to larger classes . Thanks to Janet for posting it on youtube.
It is neat to see how the students are not only learning, but assimilating those terms with something they already know. This is effective teaching!
I find the flashcards the most useful tool in memorizing and retaining new information. Thank you for posting the video.
This is a great exercise to involve students of all learning styles. Thank you for posting this so others can benefit from it.
Processes of intellectualizing music can be accomplished in many ways! Flashcards are an effective visual and memory aid.
