What is the Fun Music Company Curriculum?
It is specifically designed to meet curriculum requirements, while at the same time making lessons engaging and fun for children.
It does this by structuring activities around the four areas commonly found in every music curriculum in the world: AURAL, SING & PLAY, COMPOSE and CONNECT.

Easy to use with no software to install. All you need is a projector or video screen attached to a computer with internet access. Just login to the members’ area, select the module you want to work with and away you go!
Students will take their first steps in aural training in this program, with simple echo clapping and echo singing activities. Triple meter is introduced for the first time in this grade.
The students will deepen their understanding of the elements of music through these experiences.
The Fun Music Company SING & PLAY unit for this grade contains four fun folk songs, chosen especially for this age group. These songs are selected to meet the needs of the curriculum, while also being enjoyable and engaging for children.
Each piece has both singing and playing elements, and is presented over either two or three of our lessons. We begin with the wonderful African action song Kye Kye Kule, then we learn the beautiful Japanese children’s song Haru Ga Kita, before learning the Irish-Australian folk song Botany Bay and the fun action song Bingo.
There are videos showing each step of the process, from the introduction to the song through to playing as a classroom ensemble.
In the COMPOSE unit of this grade children will work on developing their understanding of the elements of music and how to manipulate them to create music.
We begin with creating soundscapes using technology and then use instruments to create soundscapes and record them using simple invented notation styles.
In the CONNECT unit of this grade students will listen to a wide variety of music styles and learn about instruments of the orchestra, world music styles and popular music through the years.
Students will complete a simple worksheet in each lesson with a few questions and a drawing or colouring task.
