Echo Rhythm and Echo Singing
Students can begin music instruction with listening and reproducing sound.
Firstly, as simply as reproducing a clapped rhythm pattern.
Then, singing a small phrase.
The teacher can clap or sing the examples themselves if they wish, or use the included recorded track.
Dynamics Control
As students get to grade five, one of key skill is not just to be able to replicate rhythm and pitch patterns, but to control the level of volume.
Students must be able to control their level of volume while clapping, playing instruments and singing.
A series of exercises are included in this grade to help make this possible.

Music theory worksheets with explainer videos
As students get to grade five, they need more theoretical understanding of the elements of music.
Students will learn the essentials of music notation in a consise, clear way.
These are not irrelevant music worksheets that students won’t need. They are specifically designed worksheets that reinforce the students learning.
Short explainer videos are included to help non music specialists with the technical information.

Q. How can you get students in grade five playing instruments and creating an ensemble?
Step 1: Call it something FUN.
Step 2: Play simple, effective, and FUN music!

That is what our MARIMBA BAND program is designed to do. It is based on simple pieces that use one or two notes. It uses simple marimbas or xylophones, which many schools have. As with all our other materials, complete tutorials are included on how to play and teach the pieces.
Every part is learned individually.
Students can learn by rote, as the pieces are made up from repeated patterns.
Animations on the screen will help the students find their notes.

Every piece uses a familiar pattern.
There are three parts: Bass, Harmony and Melody.
Each part is designed to fit within one octave of an instrument. This means that many students can share the marimbas you have. If you have a three octave marimba, three students can play it.
As with all our other materials, we provide complete tutorials for the students to learn the parts.
Specialist music teachers can skip these videos and teach the pieces themselves. However, these videos are in place to assist if they are required.

A variety of musical styles are included.
There is also a progression from easy pieces using just a couple of notes, to more complex pieces requiring a bit more concentration and practice.

It is possible that students may come into grade five music without ever having much music instruction.
That is why it is important to find a way to have activities for singing and playing music that will involve ALL students, no matter their experience level.
